Actress Meisa Kuroki was born on May 28, 1988, in Okinawa Prefecture. Her father is American and her mother is Japanese. She began dancing at the age of 10 and studied at the Okinawa Actors School, which has produced artists such as Namie Amuro and SPEED. She began modeling in 2004, appearing in fashion magazines such as "JJ." That same year, she made her debut in a stage production directed by Tsuka Kohei, launching her acting career. She has appeared in popular films such as "One Missed Call: Final" and "Crows Zero," and won the Newcomer Award at the 44th Golden Arrow Awards. She began her singing career in 2008 and has released six singles and two albums to date. She currently serves as the image model for Kanebo's cosmetics brand, "KATE." In February 2012, she married former KAT-TUN member Jin Akanishi. They gave birth to a baby girl in September of the same year.
