The NPO Regional Revitalization Support Center holds a "Proposal Words Contest" every year on the first Sunday of June, "Proposal Day," with the goal of "contributing to combating the declining birthrate." The awards ceremony and press conference were held on May 29th at the Roppongi Hills observation deck, Tokyo City View. This year marks the eighth anniversary of the event, and 20 winners from 2,033 applications submitted via the official website appeared on stage to share their "proposal words" and stories. The grand prize went to a couple celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. Since there was no special proposal at the time of their marriage, the older wife visited the Roppongi Hills observation deck on their 25th anniversary and asked her husband, "Can you extend our red thread contract for 25 years?" to which he replied, "Sure!" Additionally, talent IMALU, who was appointed as a goodwill ambassador for the "Lovers' Sanctuary Project," which selects romantic spots suitable for proposals from tourist destinations across Japan, appeared in her first wedding dress. She received her appointment letter from judge and designer Yumi Katsura. Katsura designed the strapless mini dress, skillfully layered with various laces. She accessorized with a gorgeous clutch bouquet designed by fellow judge Shogo Kariyazaki, combining pink and white roses with rhinestone accents. IMALU wrote, "There were many bold lines that made me feel embarrassed, and I thought the people there were very romantic. I personally long for romantic situations, like elegantly sipping champagne on a boat in Paris. I would like the man to propose, if possible. I hope that the 125 Lovers' Sanctuaries across Japan will become more widely known, and that more people will visit them to propose."
