Byredo releases perfume inspired by Indian brides. Also featuring works by Katsuya Kamo

May 7, 2014

Re-Style Gift, located on the third floor of Isetan Shinjuku, has begun carrying the Swedish fragrance brand BYREDO. New perfumes and early release items are available.
BYREDO's new fragrance, "FLOWERHEAD" (50ml/¥14,000), was inspired by the image of a bride that brand founder Ben Gorham, whose mother is Indian and father is Canadian, saw while attending an Indian wedding. In some traditional Indian weddings, brides are forbidden to show their hair, and instead cover their heads with floral garlands. Gorham's scent evokes this image of a bride adorned with colorful flowers.
Also available at the store are three roll-on fragrances (7.5ml/¥9,500) in "Rose Noir," "Gypsy Water," and "Blanche." The fragrance is available exclusively at the store.

The store will also feature an exhibition of works by Kamo Katsuya, a hair and makeup artist active in fashion magazines and shows both in Japan and abroad, using floral materials to match the image of flower heads.

Byredo is a fragrance brand founded in Stockholm in 2006. The fragrances are produced in Sweden, with a focus on craftsmanship and high-quality ingredients. The scents are characterized by concepts created based on Ben's own personal memories and imaginary worlds. The brand has also developed items that are strongly linked to fashion and art, such as releasing a perfume in collaboration with the Parisian creative group M/M(Paris).
