Model AMO is also captivated! The world exhibition of fake sweets "Milky Way" is being held

Jul 5, 2013

In celebration of Tanabata, the world exhibition "Atlantis" by "Milky Way," featuring popular fake sweets artist Kimika Ono, is being held at the Isetan Girl Gallery on the second floor of Isetan Shinjuku until July 16th. After gaining experience as a pastry chef at the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, Ono saw her icing cookies at a vintage clothing store party and was approached by model AMO, who was acquainted with the store's owner, who offered her fake sweets for a personal book. Originally a fan of AMO, Ono's experience led her to embark on a full-time artistic career. Her girly works have a large following. Milky Way, an original brand themed around "sea, sky, and sweets," has amassed a large fanbase, and at the Isetan Shinjuku store, the legendary ancient city of Atlantis, which appears alongside the Milky Way, is depicted throughout the entire venue. Along with the fake sweets, collages of underwater photographs Ono herself took on Ishigaki Island are also on display.

In addition, canvas works depicting mermaids and crosses will be unveiled for the first time for this occasion, and will be available for purchase.
