Diptyque's limited edition Christmas candles have a powerful yet delicate "woody scent"

Oct 19, 2015

Diptyque will release its 2015 Holiday Collection on November 1st, leading up to Christmas. The collection features three types of candles (190g for 8,300 yen, 70g for 4,400 yen) themed around the scent of trees. The powerful yet delicate scent of trees with deep roots in the earth and vertical growth into the sky evokes memories of the past, beautiful natural scenes, and seasons, providing an escape from everyday life. The lineup includes "Saban," with its familiar scent blending resin with a hint of mandarin; "Liquidamber," with its seductive amber liquid and the addition of nutmeg and cinnamon; and "Olivan," with its warm, soothing scent blending woody aromas with refreshing notes. The package design was created by French painter Julien Colombier, who creates paintings with themes of mysterious forests and magical jungles. The "scent of trees" is expressed by creating a light source with unique colors against a black background.
