French fragrance house Diptyque will release a new limited edition collection, "34," on September 1st. Released in 2014, "34" is a collection available exclusively at select stores, inheriting the spirit of Diptyque's first boutique at 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris. The new collection features the second installment of "Essences Insensees," a fragrance crafted using two types of jasmine from different harvest years (Eau de Parfum 75ml, ¥18,000; Solid Perfume 3.6g, ¥7,400). The fragrance features autumn jasmine with a strawberry scent and more traditional jasmine, characterized by its petal-like scent. The eau de parfum is housed in an amber bottle crafted by Waltersperger, France's last semi-automatic glass workshop. Also available exclusively at Diptyque boutiques, "Le Bazar du 34" will introduce three new eau de parfums (100ml each, 22,000 yen). The lineup includes "Opone," made with Turkish rose as the main ingredient, plus a touch of saffron, cumin, and leather-like notes of laurel; "Eau Mage," a unisex fragrance that combines a sensual aroma with mandarin peel, rose, spices, and musk; and "Benjoin Boheme," an elegant fragrance made with an abundance of Laotian ingredients such as carum seed, sandalwood, and snowbell.
In addition, the candle holders (17,980 yen each) include one with a bluish-black background reminiscent of a net-patterned cake mold, and one inspired by the necklaces that Christiane Gautrot, one of the founders, made using glass pearls. There will also be a candle holder inspired by a wooden bird that was displayed in the window of a Paris boutique, featuring a bird's feathers and beak, the outline of which becomes visible when the candle is lit.
Other fragrance candles on sale include "La Prouveresse," "Le Marche aux Epices," and "Le Redoute" (450g each, 8,900 yen), as well as a limited edition notebook (2,500 yen).
