Sakurada Tori: Newly Photographed Photos and a Special Interview

■Pearl Power: 7 Days of Pearl-Enthralled Sakurada Tori
Sakurada Tori, an actor with a penchant for fashion, is a rising star, garnering attention for his work as a vocalist. Hearing that he's an avowed pearl enthusiast makes this all the more compelling. Sakurada will be showcasing pearl outfits from one week.

MONDAY

Hanging out with close friends

I've never really cared much about fashion rules or taboos. I wear pearls simply because I think they're cool. Pairing elegant pearls with casual street style is great. I'm so excited to wear pearls on a daily basis these days, I'm happy just to be alive (laughs). Pearls go with any of my casual outfits. I'm planning on buying these new ear cuffs as soon as they're released.

TUESDAY

Facing the Most Important Press Conference

For a special occasion like a press conference, a formal suit is the perfect combination—a special pearl necklace and ear cuffs. It's a style I've always aspired to achieve. This kind of outfit gives me confidence. Pearl power, I guess. The feather-motif necklace is my current favorite.

WEDNESDAY

Heading to the location shoot with enthusiasm.

The key to this look is the iconic pendant, combining the letter "M" (the initial for MIKIMOTO) with a black lipped pearl. The long coat, this long chain, and the tucked-in, compact inner layer create a perfect balance. The pink inner layer makes the black lipped pearl stand out even more, complementing the outfit and pearl.

THURSDAY

Moving energetically during the live performance

At the live performance in February, she wore a Mikimoto Comme des Garçons necklace with a half-pearl and half-chain combination. Her styling, both her clothes and her hair, is very realistic.

FRIDAY

I want you to see me looking confident.

Due to the nature of my job, I can't usually dress in eye-catching outfits. But especially when I'm doing an interview, I want to be photographed in an outfit that makes me feel confident. When I'm wearing a bold Comme des Garçons outfit, especially a rider's jacket with multiple metal fittings on the collar, I like to choose pearls with a fang motif that are just as bold as the outfit. I intentionally wear them over the collar of my shirt to make the pearls stand out.

SATURDAY

Enjoying my favorite drive

Driving is one of my favorite pastimes. I often drive in casual clothes like a sweater, but just imagining wearing a black pearl bracelet on my wrist really gets me pumped. They're slender yet heavy, and their softness, unlike metal, is soothing. Until last year, I was satisfied just wearing the typical white Akoya pearls, but this year I'd like to try a more masculine yet sophisticated black pearl. Wearing this necklace with just a T-shirt in the summer would also be cool!

SUNDAY

Relaxing at Home and Enjoying Some Personal Time

On my days off, I sometimes don't see anyone at all. But it's precisely at times like those that I want to lift my spirits by wearing only the things I love—a style that emphasizes pearls, as only a pearl lover can. (laughs) I paired a relaxed hoodie and loose jacket with a Mikimoto Comme des Garçons necklace with a double-stranded section. I think we live in a truly wonderful time when it's okay to pair pearls with sweatshirts.
