Fendi relocates its headquarters to the historic Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana in Rome. It will be open to the public for a limited time until next spring.

Oct 31, 2015

On October 22nd, FENDI opened its new headquarters, Palazzo della Civilta’ Italiana. To mark the occasion, the brand is hosting the exhibition "Una Nuova Roma, Quartier EUR and Palazzo della Civilta’ Italiana" on the second floor of Palazzo della Civilta’ Italiana from October 23rd to March 7th, 2016. The Palazzo della Civilta’ Italiana, a historic Roman building also known as the Square Colosseum, is open to the public for the first time in over 70 years. The exhibition was conceived and organized by the Directorate General for Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Tourism of Rome. The exhibition is organized by Zetema Progetto Cultura and curated by Vittorio Vidot and architect Carlo Lococo. The exhibition will feature a variety of works, including paintings, images, drawings, photographs, and videos. Highlights include photographs by masters of the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana and the EUR district, including Karl Lagerfeld, Gabriel Basilico, Fabrizio Ferri, Franco Fontana, and Andrea Gemolo. Other exhibits include blueprints, floor plans, and sketches by great Italian architects of the 1990s, alongside architectural and historical images. Screenings also include a selection of films by great filmmakers, including Roberto Rossellini, Federico Fellini, and Vittorio De Sica. To coincide with the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana's opening, lighting designer Mario Nanni will present a permanent lighting installation. The installation, showcasing the monumental architecture in a novel way, illuminates the arcade columns with white light, creating a sense of perspective with gradually increasing shadows, symbolizing the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana's rebirth. Additionally, at 7:45 PM local time on October 22 (2:45 AM Japan time on October 23), a "Poem of Light," also by Mario Nanni, illuminated the building's facade to celebrate the opening. The lighting installation was also streamed live on fendi.com.
