The "Morocco Fair 2015," featuring Morocco, will be held from July 15th to 21st at the Festival Plaza on the 9th floor of the Hankyu Umeda Main Store.
Morocco, where African, Arab, and European cultures blend together, has a unique culture unlike any other. Located just a two- to three-hour flight from major European cities like Paris, Morocco is also known as a resort destination for French people. The charm of its unique culture continues to attract many artists, writers, and creators, including fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent.
The fair will feature a wide selection of Moroccan goods perfect for summer, including market bags and babouche slippers. Moroccan beauty products, said to be the birthplace of esthetics, will also be available, including "argan oil" made from the precious argan fruit found only in Morocco, and "ghassoul" clay packs. Other items on display include Moroccan lamps and rugs, known as the "art of light," as well as traditional, exotic interior decor.
Edible argan oil, which is still relatively unknown in Japan, will also be available. The Moroccan Cafe corner will sell Moroccan soft serve ice cream topped with special argan oil, as well as rare Moroccan wines and local beer, Casablanca Beer.
During the event, various events will be held every day, including argan oil beauty experiences, Moroccan embroidery experiences, Arabic calligraphy, and henna art classes. A belly dance festival will also be held on the stage.
