BARNEYS NEWYORK, the private label of the American luxury department store Barneys New York, has launched a new project called "ARTISTS for BARNEYS COLLECTION," which hires notable creators each season. It has been announced that the first collaboration items for the 2015 Autumn/Winter season will be released on August 7th.

The "ARTISTS for BARNEYS COLLECTION" is overseen by fashion director Haru Suzuki, who also oversees seasonal buying. Creators will propose designs based on each season's buying concept.

For the first collection, titled "RISING STAR," for the 2015 Autumn/Winter season, the brand has hired up-and-coming designers AKANE UTSUNOMIYA and TARO HORIUCHI. By combining the high-quality feel of Barneys New York's traditional items with trend-conscious design, the collection is designed to be versatile and suitable for both work and play.

AKANE UTSUNOMIYA, who is well-known for his collections with feminine shapes, has created a set of a loose knit top and a skirt made of beautiful chiffon, as well as a long camel coat that is on trend this season.

Meanwhile, TARO HORIUCHI, who is known for putting a twist on materials and silhouettes, will offer jackets and culottes featuring fringe details, as well as tops and bottoms finished with an exquisite combination of soft materials and ivory hues.
