Adidas releases dance shoes produced by EXILE's Tetsuya

Jun 4, 2014

Adidas will release the "DP.01" performance shoe, co-developed with Tetsuya of EXILE. Named after the initials of "Dance Pride," this shoe was born from Tetsuya's proposal to create the ideal dance performance shoe, as Adidas' first performance shoe. Tetsuya personally presented the shoe to staff at Adidas's headquarters in Germany, and the collaboration took approximately two years to complete. The unique "Microfit Last," developed based on an analysis of Japanese feet, strengthens heel support and improves fit. The high-tech honeycomb upper provides both support and strength for tiptoeing. The thick, stretch-resistant three stripes provide firm support, while the grip of the outsole ensures durability for extended performances. The shoes come in four colors, including black and red, and feature the Exile Performance Institute's "E.P.I." logo on the back of the tongue. Sizes range from 22.5 to 31.0 cm. They will be available in advance at Adidas stores, online shops, and ABC Mart on June 6th, with general release on the 20th. Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1981, Tetsuya began dancing at the age of 19 and has performed at club events in Yokohama and Tokyo. He also works as an instructor at the dance school "EXILE PROFESSIONAL GYM." He was selected as a member of "J Soul Brothers" in 2007 and has appeared on stage and in television dramas.
