Louis Vuitton has announced a new project called "Icons and Iconoclasts," which offers a new interpretation of the brand's iconic Monogram. Six creators - architect Frank Gehry, fashion designers Rei Kawakubo, Karl Lagerfeld, and Christian Louboutin, product designer Marc Newson, and photographer and film director Cindy Sherman - have used their free imagination to create bags based on the Monogram motif. The collection spans the three fields of art, architecture, and design, aiming to create new fields that transcend each genre. "We focused on people who put their souls into creating things with their own hands. It's fascinating to see the ideas born from various perspectives emerge in the new Monogram collection, and it's inspiring to witness their worldviews," said Delphine Arnault, Executive Vice President of Louis Vuitton. The designers were selected by Nicolas Ghesquiere, Artistic Director of Women's, alongside creators from various fields. The limited-edition Monogram collection will be available in select stores around the world from mid-October, with a launch event scheduled for November 7th in New York. The Monogram was designed by Georges Vuitton in 1896. It combines the initials "L" and "V" of his father, Louis Vuitton.
