JIMMY CHOO has released an exclusive interview with model and actress Chloë Sevigny.
Chloë Sevigny, whom journalist Jay McInally called "the coolest girl in the world," is a model and actress who also works as a fashion designer and director. Sevigny made her film debut in the controversial film "Kids," and her performance was so captivating that it earned her an Independent Spirit Award nomination, earning her the nickname "the muse of independent film." She also received critical acclaim for her role as the heroine in the true-life film "Boys Don't Cry," for which she was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress.
In this exclusive interview, Chloë Sevigny discusses her unique style, which she cites as inspiration from her father, and her passion for vintage clothing. The photoshoot featured Chloë Sevigny wearing pieces from Jimmy Choo's Spring/Summer 2016 collection. When asked about her style influences, eras, and icons in an interview, she said, "I took inspiration from the people I grew up with in suburban Connecticut. The girls who rebelled against the rules at school, the girls who wore rugged shoes and black mock turtlenecks, who put bumper stickers on their Volvos to make a statement, and who were into alternative music. These were the girls I wanted to be friends with." When asked about her favorite Jimmy Choo look from the photoshoot, she said, "My favorite is the white 'LUC' pumps with the ankle strap and red PVC instep. They go with sexy dresses, but also with denim. They remind me of the white pumps I wore in the '90s. I wore them with everything. White shoes are my fashion statement."
When asked what items she has kept in her wardrobe for over 20 years, she replied, "I have a huge wardrobe stored in Connecticut. Most of it dates back to high school. Sometimes I go back and dig out jeans, sweaters, T-shirts, and boots and incorporate them into my everyday wardrobe. I also dig out designer pieces I wore to events and wear them to weddings and parties."
When asked where she shops, she replied, "In New York, there's an alleyway full of my favorite spots. I know which shops have everything from brands and eras that I love. I often go there to hunt for vintage items; it's almost an addiction."
