"TOKYO CRAFT MARKET | Season 01: Spring 2016," focusing on Japanese craftsmanship, will be held on April 16th and 17th at the United Nations University Courtyard Plaza in Aoyama, Tokyo.
What is it that makes something feel "Japanese"? This event will focus on the spirituality that underlies Japanese craftsmanship. It's not enough to simply serve a purpose; it's about considering the user, pursuing high quality, and focusing on the process, all of which reveals beauty.
The lineup includes mugs, plates, and pots by PARTY; wind chimes by Kokou Kobo; vases and mountain-shaped fruit knives by Glass Shop PRATO PINO; accessories and stools by Mokko Hakase + Mei; figurines featuring beckoning cats and zodiac animals by Imadoyaki Shirai; and fans by Ginza Takumi. In addition, a wide range of exhibitors will gather on April 16th (52 groups) and on the 17th (57 groups), including Beniya Folk Crafts Store and Kamawanu Asakusa, from interior shops, craft shops, artisans, and restaurants.
Information about the exhibitors will be updated regularly on the event's official Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/events/1023519711040650/), and information about products will be updated regularly on the event's official Pinterest page (https://jp.pinterest.com/farmersmarketjp/tokyo-craft-market-01/).
