Visvim has been invited to the 90th Pitti Immagine Uomo, which will be held over four days starting on June 14th. The brand's first complete men's and women's collection will be presented in Florence.
The program for which Visvim has been invited is a Designer Project, which gives designers that Pitti Uomo has its eye on the chance to present their projects solo in runway style. At Pitti Uomo 89, held in January this year, adidas Originals by White Mountaineering presented its collection, and at the 87th Pitti Uomo last year, the stage was given to Tod's, featuring Andrea Incontri. The selection was based on designer Hiroki Nakamura's high-tech reinterpretation of American workwear, the high-quality materials, and the content and functionality of his cult-favorite shoes, all of which have been highly praised alongside American fashion, which has been rediscovered at the show over the past few seasons. The main guest designer at this year's Pitti Uomo is Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy, born in 1984. Rubchinskiy, who also works as a photographer, presents items such as MA1 jackets, T-shirts, and sweatshirts, inspired by skater and club culture, with designs and visuals evoking a socialist background. His collection debuted at the Paris Men's Collection in Spring/Summer 2015, and is produced and sold by COMME des GARÇONS. Fausto Puglisi and Lucio Vanotti were also selected to take the stage at Pitti Italics, which highlights young Italian designers.
Fausto Paglissi is a designer born in Sicily in 1976 who gained experience at the houses of Anna Molinari and Versace. At this year's Pitti, he will present his 17SS men's capsule collection and women's resort collection. He is based in Messina (northern Sicily) and LA, and travels between New York and the US, creating one-of-a-kind pieces for celebrities.
The other designer, Vanotti, launched his own brand in 2002, was selected as a finalist for "Who is on Next? Uomo," and presented a unisex look at the Armani Theater during Milan Fashion Week in January 2019. His collections are characterized by a natural, minimalist style with Italian sartorial flair and pure, beautiful silhouettes.
