KIGI is holding a solo exhibition at Clematis no Oka, a unique world where two sensibilities overlap

Apr 29, 2016

The creative unit KIGI is holding their solo exhibition "KIGI in Clematis no Oka" at the Vangi Sculpture Garden Museum in Clematis no Oka, Nagaizumi-cho, Shizuoka, until July 3rd. KIGI is a creative unit founded in 2012 by Ryosuke Uehara, winner of the 11th Kamekura Yusaku Award for his art direction of THEATRE PRODUCTS, and Yoshie Watanabe, whose picture book "BROOCH" won gold awards at the New York ADC and One Show, and who also designs for the apparel brand CACUMA. In addition to art direction and product design, the unit continues to engage in a wide range of activities, including the creation of original artwork. This exhibition comprehensively introduces KIGI's creations, focusing on artwork that has been exhibited in art museums and galleries in recent years. Visitors can experience a unique world where the different sensibilities of Uehara, who creates orderly works from meticulous concepts, and Watanabe, who creates gentle and delicate works from a soft sensibility, resonate.

In addition, satellite exhibitions will be held simultaneously at Clematis no Oka and stores in Mishima City during the exhibition period. There will also be a stamp rally, and those who collect all the stamps will receive an original KIGI tin badge.
