Shuya Okino Illustration Exhibition to be held at Barneys New York Shinjuku

Sep 4, 2013

Barneys New York Shinjuku will host "ANOTHER FACE: Shuya Okino Illustrations," the first solo exhibition by musician Shuya Okino, from October 19th to October 27th. Okino has worked as an illustrator, creating designs for magazines and CD flyers both in Japan and overseas. This exhibition marks the first time that all of his work, including one new piece, will be gathered together in one place. Limited-edition T-shirts inspired by past advertising photographs for Barneys New York will be on sale during the exhibition. Additionally, Okino will host free parties, featuring him as DJ, from 6 PM on the 19th and 2 PM on the 27th. Okino is active in a wide range of fields, including DJing, music producing, composer, and writer. In the early 1990s, he formed the DJ unit "KYOTO JAZZ MASSIVE" with his younger brother, Yoshihiro Okino. Their first single, "ECLIPSE/SILENT MESSENGER," released in 2000, and their first album, "SPIRIT OF THE SUN," released in 2002, were highly acclaimed worldwide. They have been invited to perform in 130 cities in 35 countries.
