To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Fendi's arrival in Japan, the brand will open a massive pop-up store in Tokyo's Ginza district on November 20th. The store is located at 3-5-8 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. This unique concept store, Japan's first combined men's and women's store, fully showcases the brand's playful personality. Based on the concept of "a contemporary interpretation of Rome, Palazzo d'Arte Civiltà Italiana, and Fendi," the store is designed to evoke the brand's roots in Rome and the Palazzo d'Arte Civiltà Italiana, the monumental building that has become Fendi's new home. The neon façade features the Palazzo d'Arte Civiltà Italiana's iconic arch, and the interior features a giant Carlito and the beloved Italian tricycle, Ape. A giant sculpture, "Fur Tree," by Azuma Makoto, a floral artist active both in Japan and abroad, is also on display. The store is spread across three floors, with a mini-theater in the basement where visitors can watch films that speak to the brand's longstanding relationship with the film industry. The men's section on the second floor was designed with inspiration from Beats, the headphone brand with which the brand collaborated on the 2015-16 Autumn/Winter men's collection. The store offers all categories, from the finest furs, ready-to-wear, and leather goods to shoes and accessories. In addition to numerous limited-edition items commemorating the opening, new collections such as the new SELLERIA "MINI PEEKABOO," "ABCharm" with customizable initials, and "STRAP YOU" customizable bag straps will also be available for early purchase.
