He first appeared in the comic "PEANUTS" on March 29, 1983. He is the mascot character of "The Pelicans", the baseball team led by Peppermint Patty. Members of "The Pelicans" include his best friend "Marcy" and slugger "Jose Peterson." One day, at a baseball team meeting, Charlie Brown is appointed as the Pelican mascot. However, he is not allowed to take off his costume even for a moment, and Marcy, feeling sorry for Charlie Brown, goes to stop him. On the day of the game, the mascot appears, and among them is none other than... Snoopy.
