While "assembly furniture" is a common style, this is the first attempt by Kitano Jyutaku Sekkei Co., Ltd., a furniture manufacturer based in Hokkaido founded in 1978, has released "LIM," a new series of assembly furniture made using solid wood from Hokkaido. Kitano Jyutaku Sekkei Co., Ltd. is committed to the principles of coexistence with nature and sustainable manufacturing, and produces solid wood furniture assembled using the handiwork of artisans. While maintaining its cherished "artisanal handiwork, solid wood, and natural paints," the company uses precious Hokkaido wood without waste and ships in small packages, thereby reducing transportation energy. "LIM" aims to create new values that overturn the conventional concept of assembly furniture, which is aimed at cheap, mass-produced furniture.

The ultimate goal of LIM's development is to spread the circle of "local materials, local servants" around the world. Is economic activity that consumes huge amounts of energy by establishing manufacturing bases overseas in the pursuit of cheap labor and resources really right for the Earth? If we can make each region's industry self-sufficient, it should become possible for economic activity to be self-contained within that region. To achieve this "manufacturing for the Earth," we want to spread a system in which designs and manufacturing methods are shared, and furniture is made by local artisans using local wood and used by local people.
Local wood should be used locally. We believe that "local wood, local use" will play a part in saving the planet.
Compact packaging and simple assembly.
Shipping furniture is often likened to shipping air. By shipping the LIM Chair disassembled, we can now ship five chairs in the same volume as a single chair. As with other furniture, this leads to significant savings in energy used for shipping.
It is designed to be easy to assemble with the included hex wrench and common tools. Of course, it can also be disassembled. It can also be folded up and made easy to carry when moving. We believe that the time spent assembling furniture will become a memorable experience and will help you develop an attachment to your furniture.

Our products are made in a small factory in Higashikawa, Hokkaido. Handwork is essential when working with solid wood, which is rich in character. Using 100% solid wood from Hokkaido, each piece of furniture is completed by a single craftsman, carefully selecting the wood, and then assembled and inspected one by one before being packed.
The pieces are finished with natural oil and soap paints. We believe that handwork that makes use of the blessings of nature is good for the future of the Earth, and we want to move forward with the belief that this planet will be passed on to the next generation.
