Lapo Elkann and Frida Giannini: Two icons of Italian design team up again

Mar 22, 2013

Lapo Elkann, grandson of the founder of the Fiat automobile manufacturer and president of apparel manufacturer Italian Independent, and Frida Giannini, creative director of Gucci, are once again collaborating.
In 2011, Giannini unveiled the Fiat 500, a three-door car designed by Gucci. This time, Gucci is creating a made-to-measure clothing line reflecting the lifestyle of the celebrity businessman. It's called "Lapo's Wardrobe."
Dedicated staff handles everything from fabric selection to fitting and finishing, and delivery takes four to six weeks. More than 178 variations are possible depending on the color and material combination.
The collection includes 23 men's styles and four women's styles. Other items include shoes, leather goods, and accessories.
Orders will begin to be taken at Gucci boutiques in Milan, London, Paris, New York, Tokyo, and Sao Paulo during the 2014 S/S Milan Men's Collection in June.
