
"FashionTech Summit #001," an event that depicts the future of IT and fashion, will be held from March 4th to 6th at Digital Hollywood University's Surugadai Campus in Ochanomizu, Tokyo.
The event is being held as part of "MEDIA AMBITION TOKYO 2016," an experimental cultural event that implements technology art in the city. The venue will feature pitches and hackathons by companies working on utilizing "fashion tech," which uses technology to support the expansion of the fashion world, and smart-up companies that provide services using new technology.
From 7:30pm to 9:30pm on March 4th, a panel discussion entitled "What Connects FashionTech and Traditional Fashion Business" will be held, featuring Andreas Olausson, Japan representative of virtual try-on solution Virtusize, Tatsuya Kitagawa, special assignment manager at Isetan Mitsukoshi, Takuro Kamigami, manager of the ABEJA Business Division, and Akihiko Murata, director and ICT manager at Bakehouse.
From 10:30am on March 5th to 4pm on March 6th, the fashion tech hackathon "Fashion of the Future" will be held, with Hirata Motoyoshi, CEO of modefactory.com, as moderator. The judges include Ichikawa Nagisa (Editor-in-Chief of DiFa), Ogawa Toru (Deputy Director of NHK Digital Content Center), Kitagawa Tatsuya (Special Assignment Manager of Isetan Mitsukoshi), Kirishima Roland (Photographer, Multi-Creator), Gunji Ayumi (Editorial Director of Numero TOKYO), Sekine Shuji (Digital Communications Manager, Advertising and Public Relations Headquarters, President's Office of BEAMS), Nakazato Shuko (Designer of NORIKONAKAZATO), and Nishigaki Yuta (Co-Founder/CEO of SnSnap).
On March 5th, from 11am to 12:30pm, there will be a keynote speech entitled "The Future of FashionTech and Startup Hubs" moderated by Styler CEO Koseki Tsubasa, and from 1pm to 3pm there will be a pitch event entitled "sprout annex ~FashionTech~" with participation from The World Elements' Eiji Nogaki, FITTY's Homma Yushiko, and LaFabric's Mori Yuichiro. In addition, from 5pm to 7pm there will be a panel discussion entitled "Tokyo for FashionTech Startups" moderated by Koseki.
From 10:00 to 11:00 on March 6th, there will be a lecture entitled "The Potential of Tokyo Fashion and Technology" by Amatsu Yu, designer of A DEGREE FAHRENHEIT and Hanae Mori manuscrit, and Morita Osamu, CEO of Digital Fashion, and from 1:30 to 15:00 there will be a talk session entitled "After FashionTech Summit #001. On to #002" by Hirata Motoyoshi and Koseki, CEO of Mode Factory.com. A social gathering with speakers and hackathon participants will also be held from 18:30 to 21:00.
