Intimissimi, the acclaimed Italian lingerie brand, welcomes painter Lee Izumida as its third artist to exhibit at its newly opened Intimissimi Art Space in April. She will be showcasing her fresh, dynamic works.
Lee Izumida, who began her career as a painter full-time in 2019, has been creating acrylic paintings, working on signs, promotional art, collaborations with apparel brands, and show window designs. "My dream is to keep painting until I'm a grandmother," she often says. Her work is inspired by her travels and everyday life, often featuring familiar motifs.
Regarding her exhibition titled "PROGRESS" at this art space, she had the following to say. "After experiencing 2020, my desire to bring joy to others has grown stronger. My dream now is to continue painting and bringing joy to others until I'm a grandmother. I want to take on new challenges, even if they're small, without fear. This exhibition features works I created during the busy end of the year, when this desire became even stronger."

Lee Izumida also explained that she chose butterfly, bee, and flower motifs for this piece because she often found inspiration in Muhammad Ali's famous quotes. Lee Izumida's distinctive, feminine touch and use of color seem to convey the strength of the plants and creatures she depicts. This Lee Izumida exhibition is also curated by CTAG (Central Tokyo Arts Gallery), an up-and-coming art gallery garnering attention. A new artist is welcomed approximately every two to three months, and their works will be exhibited at the Intimissimi Art Space in the Intimissimi Shibuya Bunkamura-dori store. In addition, a limited number of Lee Izumida's first giclee prints, made on German Hahnemühle fine art paper, renowned as the world's highest quality inkjet media, will be available for sale at the Intimissimi Art Space. These rare works allow you to enjoy the original artwork in its original style. They come with a handwritten signature and a certificate of authenticity. Additionally, we will exhibit and sell Kutani ware pieces released as part of TMHM (Temahima), a project between CTAG and A&Ko (A&Ko, Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture).
