Mar 17, 2016

Each bookstore will act as a concierge, recommending "the book you should read now" to FASHION HEADLINE readers. Every Thursday, each branch of the art bookstore "NADiff" will introduce a book they recommend. This time, we'll be looking at the flagship store in Ebisu, Tokyo, the NADiff Apartment (1-18-4 Ebisu, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, 1F NADiff A/P/A/R/T).

■ "Landscapes" by Lele Saveri

Lele Saveri is a photographer and artist born in Rome and currently based in New York. In addition to being an artist, he is also an active curator of the New York zine fair "8 Ball Zine." He created a pop-up shop called "Newsstand" inside a Brooklyn subway station, selling zines and artist books by many artists, which attracted a lot of attention.

This book is a collection of his own photographs, published by Dashwood Books, a specialist photo book store in New York. In keeping with his DIY spirit, the work was printed one color at a time using a simple printing machine called a risograph, with repeated experiments on some pages, layering plates and colors, before the finished product was offset printed and bound.

The rough surface grain and color atmosphere allow you to enjoy the beauty of the curves of the main nude photographs and the accompanying plant photographs. Limited to 500 copies, this is a rare book in Japan.
