Yoshiokubo presented its 2016-17 Autumn/Winter collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo on March 17th.
In collaboration with accessory brand "HEAVY & Co. blacksmith," the collection showcased styles that put accessories at the center of the collection. Stacked bangles on the wrist convey a sense of wild strength and masculine elegance.
Another focal point was colorful tribal-patterned jacquard fabric. Items like MA-1 jackets and sweatshirts evoke Tokyo's current street, military, and sports styles, creating a bold yet eye-catching look.
A nylon coat was deconstructed and combined into a poncho. One side of a tailored jacket features jacquard fabric, and a sweatshirt is adorned with neon-colored jacquard. Long, fringe-like torn fabric adds a light, airy movement to the look.
Rock motif prints, paint splatter prints, and chic stripes reminiscent of the wilderness add a playful, mature touch and depth to layered styles. The main selection of pants is slim cropped and relaxed full-length, as well as sweatpants and shorts. The heels of the sneakers are adorned with metallic details, and under the shorts are knee-high socks featuring the "HEAVY & Co. blacksmith" logo.
Yoshio Kubo's style is realistic yet also sure to capture the wearer's individuality, making it a style to keep an eye on this fall and winter.
