HOUSE VISION, planned and conceived by Japan Design Center under the direction of Hara Kenya, will hold the "HOUSE VISION 2013 TOKYO EXHIBITION." The exhibition will run for 23 days, from March 2 (Sat) to 24 (Sun), 2013.
The exhibition explores the concept of "home" as a place where industrial possibilities intersect from multiple angles, showcasing Japan's potential through six full-scale houses and one sharing community, created through collaborations between companies and architects from various fields. Participants include Toyo Ito, Shigeru Ban, Sou Fujimoto, contemporary artist Hiroshi Sugimoto, MUJI, Tsutaya Bookstore, and R Tokyo Real Estate. Hara Kenya is the exhibition director, Tsuchiya Sadao is in charge of planning and coordination, and Kengo Kuma is in charge of venue layout.
HOUSE VISION is an information dissemination and research platform created to concretely present new ways of living for Japanese people, based on the philosophy of "living in cities with a new common sense." The project pursued the originality of a new city centered around the "home" through various means, including research meetings, symposiums, publications, and exhibitions. This project, which spanned approximately two years, has culminated in this exhibition.
During the exhibition, talk sessions will be held every day with a diverse range of guests, including architects, corporate representatives, artists, designers, researchers, and editors. Interview videos and other materials are also available on the official website.
