The CREATIVE JAPAN Fashion Fair, which sells fashion and lifestyle products from 20 Japanese brands, opened on the 25th at Harvey Nichols, the largest department store in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The opening reception hosted by Harvey Nichols in the evening of the first day of the event was attended by 250 guests, including media representatives from Sayidaty, the largest women's magazine in Saudi Arabia, fashion bloggers, and VIP customers of the department store. Over 80% of the Saudi Arabian visitors were women, who eagerly asked questions about the brands to the Japanese organizers and even purchased products during breaks in the reception.
The CREATIVE JAPAN Fashion Fair is organized by the Japan Fashion Week Organization (JFWO) with support from the Creative Industries Division of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Twenty brands that evoke a "modern Japanese spirit" will be gathered, ranging from clothing brands such as "A DEGREE FAHRENHEIT," "FUGAHAM," and "PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE" to miscellaneous goods such as "Q-pot" and Tokyu Hands. The fair aims to promote the appeal of Japanese brands and raise awareness in Saudi Arabia, a country with a stable economic base, a remarkable increase in the young population, an increasing number of women entering the workforce, and an expected expansion of the fashion and other consumer goods market. The fair will run until March 10th.
