Conrad Tokyo's all-day dining restaurant, Cerise, will be hosting the Strawberry Pop Sweets Buffet from January 8, 2021, featuring an abundance of seasonal Japanese strawberries and an array of sweets and savory dishes inspired by America's 1950s.
The good old 1950s was America, when the term "American Dream" was coined, people flocked to diners, and the city was filled with classic cityscapes, automobiles, and elegant fashion. This year's strawberry season sweets buffet is inspired by 1950s America, and features a selection of pop and cute polka-dot sweets and strawberry savory dishes brimming with American flair. At the popular Live Station, where chefs prepare and serve sweets and savory dishes right before your eyes, we offer a strawberry Mont Blanc for sweets and an American-inspired Cajun Chicken and Baked Beans for savory dishes.
The sweets lineup features cute, poppy items with a red base inspired by the pop fashion and diners of 1950s America. One that catches the eye is the Berry Tiramisu, which features a lime green background and raspberry and mascarpone filling. The cute strawberry-shaped Strawberry and Pistachio Mousse has a tart strawberry flavor and a hint of pistachio. The Strawberry and Rhubarb Compote, with its tart rhubarb compote enveloped in fromage blanc, is a delightful item with just the right amount of cinnamon and a crunchy crumble. The American-inspired "Caramel Latte Donut" combines the flavor of coffee with the aroma of nuts and caramel, while the "Chocolate Chip Cookie" is a soft cookie commonly found in America, with a cinnamon aroma. At the Live Station, a pastry chef will squeeze chestnut cream into each "Strawberry Mont Blanc." We also have strawberry-infused savory items that adults will love. The colorful cold "Salmon, Beetroot, and Strawberry Tart with Goat Cheese Mousse" combines salmon and goat cheese with the refreshing flavor of strawberries. The BBQ Slider features strawberries and Spam.
