
Actress Nikki Blonsky was born on November 9, 1988, in New York, USA. Her real name is Nicole Margaret Blonsky.
After attending Great Neck South High School, she studied drama and musical theater and performed in numerous school productions. She also worked as a singer, singing at the 2002 parade to welcome figure skater Sarah Hughes.
At age 17, she auditioned for the comedy film "Hairspray." She was selected from 1,000 applicants as a "chubby teen who could sing and dance," and was selected for the lead role, marking her film debut. The film quickly gained acclaim, and she became an overnight sensation, earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.
However, she subsequently struggled to find success, and her TV drama "Huge" was canceled after 10 episodes, leading to her disappearance from Hollywood. Photos of her working as a hairdresser were posted online, and she tweeted her approval.
In 2008, she was involved in a scandal in which she was arrested after getting into a fight with model Bianca Golden at an airport in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
