Women look better when they're called by their first name. Paula proves it in a beauty science experiment

Nov 25, 2014

Every woman has an instinct for beauty. This is the concept behind RED B.A., a new skincare brand from POLA.

A video produced by POLA is attracting attention. Women who are called "Mom" by their husbands and children and lead busy motherly lives tend to put off taking care of their own beauty. Even so, a woman's instinct for beauty surely lives on within her body.

What if mothers could become even more beautiful through a single opportunity? How would that instinct change if they were called by their first names again? With this in mind, POLA conducted an experiment to prove the hidden beauty and potential of women.

The video, "Call Her Name," released on YouTube on October 2nd, begins by calling women who are usually called "Mom" by their first names again. "Moe," "Ai," "Sayaka," "Ayu"... Every time their husbands call them by the names they had before their children were born, these women look surprised, embarrassed, but also happy with their smiles. Their bodies are experiencing an increase in oxytocin, known as the beauty hormone.

Since its release, "Call Her Name" has been viewed more than 270,000 times in less than two months. To be seen as a woman, to remember who you were before you were a mother. Such small moments can make people more beautiful.
