Givenchy's new creative director's first collection will be sold exclusively at seven stores worldwide

A capsule collection launches from Matthew M. Williams' first collection as Creative Director of Givenchy.

Edited with carefully curated pieces from the Spring/Summer 2021 collection, this capsule collection for both men and women is characterized by playfulness, rebelliousness, and effortless elegance. The new tailoring for women, exemplified by slim, long, collarless blazers and slim, high-rise pants with added thickness at the ankles, strongly reflects this season's direction. Denim is given innovative, intricate treatments, adding distinctive nuances such as cracks and sheen. Additionally, the Maison's iconic 4G emblem is woven throughout the soft, textured, denim-like jacquard. The outerwear collection features statement pieces such as a knee-length tailored coat in crocodile-embossed calfskin and Napa leather, and a voluminous, urban windbreaker in black ottoman material.

A key piece for men is the single-breasted jacket with a distinctive overlapping collar and a subtle 4G emblem on the lining. Classic-fit trousers feature original yet subtle metal details, echoing the iconic Antigona bag, as well as the boxy shirt with zip and snap closure. An oversized parka in technical ottoman material highlights Givenchy's contemporary urban spirit, incorporating design elements that combine functionality and elegance. The restyled Givenchy emblem is also featured on hoodies and sweatshirts.


This season's essential bags similarly feature unique hardware developed exclusively for Givenchy by Matthew M. Williams. The new Antigona black box leather bag features longer handles and a 4G padlock, emphasizing the Givenchy signature. The lineup also includes two crossbody bags, the unisex Vertical Mini chain bag, and the Antigona U for men.

Footwear includes the "Rock" ankle boots, women's wedge slide sandals and men's "Marshmallow" flat sandals, as well as the lightweight, transparent-soled, high-performance "GIV 1" men's sneakers in black and white.
A striking flat cap with horns and a black leather belt with a G-Chain buckle complete the premier collection.

The collection will be available exclusively in seven selected Givenchy stores in Europe, Asia and the US from December 1 to 22, 2020.

The official launch of the Matthew M. Williams Summer 2021 collection is scheduled for late February 2021.
