IKEA is a home furnishing company founded in Sweden with a vision of "creating a better everyday life for the many people." To commemorate the opening of IKEA Shibuya, IKEA Japan Co., Ltd., the Japanese subsidiary of IKEA, has produced a series of comic illustrations depicting their popular soft toys spending their daily lives in Shibuya's iconic streets and within the new store.

Shibuya, Tokyo's iconic district, is a melting pot of styles, cultures and ideas, and a place where the unexpected happens. This time, IKEA has captured the unique atmosphere of Shibuya and the everyday scenes seen there in the form of a comic, from its unique IKEA perspective.
In this series, IKEA soft toys enjoy the streets of Shibuya freely and find happiness in their new homes in the city. Instead of the go-kart racers commonly seen at Shibuya Scramble Crossing, these soft toys race through the city in RÅSKOG wagons. Internet-famous BLÅHAJ sharks hop off the last train to Shibuya and hurry home. Various events unfold at the game center, including a dinosaur stuffed animal falling in love.
These works were created by three female illustrators based in Tokyo: Ozaki Emi, Unpis, and Mokari Megumi. The three stories and the iconic world of IKEA are depicted in their own unique styles.

Ozaki Emi:
A Tokyo-based illustrator and artist, she depicts a humorous world woven by pop and quirky characters. She has expanded her range of activities across a variety of genres and media, including advertising, cover illustrations, magazine and product design, and collaborations with companies and brands.

Unpis:
Resides in Tokyo. After graduating from Musashino Art University, she worked at a design firm and a manufacturer before becoming a freelance illustrator in 2020. She strives for neutral lines and shapes, and expressions that make you feel a little wow.

Mokari Megumi:
Resides in Tokyo. Illustrator. Her work includes book covers, illustrations, and miscellaneous goods design both in Japan and abroad. She also occasionally holds solo exhibitions and events. IKEA's smoked salmon is their favorite.
Currently, Unpis' colorful illustrations are decorating the second floor side of the building on the Inokashira-dori side of IKEA Shibuya. Please enjoy the three artists' unique illustrations in-store and on our website.

In addition, to commemorate the opening of IKEA Shibuya, IKEA Family members who spend a certain amount will be given a limited number of eco bags and posters on a first-come, first-served basis.
*Please note that you will not be able to choose the design.
*Gifts are limited in number. Offer ends when stock runs out.

IKEA Shibuya is scheduled to open on November 30th.
