Jun 19, 2014

H.P.FRANCE will release a limited-edition collaboration collection on July 9th to coincide with the Musée d'Orsay exhibition at the National Art Center, Tokyo. Paris-based designers have unveiled items inspired by the museum's paintings. Items include a JAMIN PUECH bag (¥59,000) that uses sequins to recreate the colors of Paul Cézanne's "Still Life with a Soup Bowl," and a BARBARA RIHL polka-dot pouch (¥26,000) featuring a print of a representative painting from the Musée d'Orsay collection. Marianne Batlle, an expert in embroidery, has created brooches (¥20,000 each) featuring embroidery inspired by Édouard Manet's "Boy with a Flute" and Auguste Renoir's "Madame Dallas." The items are available at the National Art Center, Tokyo Museum Shop, H.P.FRANCE Boutique, H.P.FRANCE BIJOUX, and other locations.
In addition, from July 9th to 15th, the company will be holding "Musée d' H.P.FRANCE," an event inspired by the Musée d'Orsay, on the Top Stage on the first floor of the Hankyu Umeda Main Store in Osaka. A museum shop will be set up selling museum goods and souvenirs, and on the 12th and 13th, "Become the Hero of a Masterpiece," an event where visitors can sit in a booth resembling a passport photo booth and have a portrait of themselves dressed as a famous painting, will be held.
The Musée d'Orsay Exhibition will be held at the National Art Center, Tokyo in Roppongi, Tokyo, from July 9th to October 20th. 84 masterpieces will be brought to Japan, including Claude Monet's "Luncheon on the Grass" which will be shown in Japan for the first time.
