Made in Japan Maison Fragrance KITOWA releases Hinoki scented candles in Arita ware containers

Nov 15, 2020
KITOWA Co., Ltd. will begin selling the seasonal, limited-edition "KITOWA Hinoki Scented Candle," housed in an Arita ware container, at renowned lifestyle shops and online stores nationwide starting November 12, 2020. Sales will begin on the KITOWA official online site at 8:00 PM on the same day, along with the "KITOWA Instagram Live."

These scented candles are crafted from Arita ware, the birthplace of Japanese porcelain, celebrating its 400th anniversary. Each candle is carefully filled with wax in a handmade octagonal container, resulting in a stable fragrance and burn. Welcome the holiday season with the warmth and gentle light of this candle with your family and loved ones. Even after using the candle, the container can be used for various purposes, such as a trinket holder or planter. Enjoy the world of KITOWA, where Arita ware combines time-honored techniques with modern sensibilities and sophisticated fragrances.

Formulated with natural cypress oil from Mie Prefecture. The luxurious cypress scent is enhanced with geranium and iris for a touch of elegance. Sandalwood adds depth.

The container was created by 224porcelain, a potter based in Hizen Yoshida, Ureshino City, Saga Prefecture, who is challenging themselves to create unique and innovative products while building on Arita ware techniques. Because the porcelain is handmade, individual variations in color and shape will occur.

■About KITOWA
KITOWA was launched in 2018 as Japan's first maison fragrance, fusing traditional Japanese wood natural oils with perfume-quality fragrance. The cypress, Japanese cypress, and camphor trees used in KITOWA have been widely used in architecture and other buildings since ancient times due to their excellent durability, and their dignified presence and peaceful fragrance are deeply rooted in the lives of Japanese people. Furthermore, because these trees are rarely found in other countries, they are unfamiliar to people outside of Japan. The combination with exotic, rich fragrances is bold and innovative, resulting in a unique scent unlike any other in the world. With a 450-year history of incense as its backdrop, KITOWA is committed to preserving Japan's incense culture while creating a new era.

■Features
・Created by a top perfumer
Perfumers create artistic fragrances. They use their advanced technique and sensibility to create scents that have an invisible presence. One of Japan's leading perfumers brings you a gem of a fragrance, inspired by Japanese wood.
・A high-quality, exquisite scent
A rich, fine fragrance created at perfume level using the natural oils of traditional Japanese Japanese woods: cypress, hiba, and camphor. The dignified and calming, high-quality, deep scent of Japanese wood is a gem of a fragrance.
・A beautiful design created by symmetrical straight lines
A simple, monochromatic design. It represents the timber lattice seen in Japanese forests and woods with their majestic towering trees, as well as in wooden buildings. The kanji character for "tree" is arranged symmetrically on both sides, and when viewed from the side, it forms the letter "K."
