Omotesando Hills is running a Christmas promotion with the theme "Christmas, where everyone shines" until December 25th. This year, for the first time, a 14m-tall video art Christmas tree has been installed in the main building's atrium staircase. The lighting ceremony was held on the 6th, and singer Tomomi Kahara, who is currently in the news for her romantic relationship with Keio University lecturer Tsuneyasu Takeda, great-great-grandson of Emperor Meiji, gave a special live performance. Kahara appeared wearing a dress with a pleated, sculpted design. "I heard that all the staff worked late into the night to handcraft the tree. It's so beautiful, with intricate crystals and rhinestones," she commented. In front of the tree, she passionately sang three songs: her 27th single, "I Dreamed a Dream," released in April for the first time in seven years; her 1996 smash hit, "I'm Proud," and "Amazing Grace," which will be included in her album, "DREAM - Self Cover Best - Premium Edition," due for release on November 13th. The video art Christmas tree features a cylindrical screen at the top, projecting ever-changing images featuring diamond dust, chandeliers, and candles, creating a fantastical atmosphere throughout the building. Interlocking images are also projected onto the circular stage directly below the tree, allowing visitors to enjoy an interactive experience in which snow and stars fall when they hold out their hands. A special three-minute performance will also be held every 20 minutes from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM through the 25th. The facility is also decorated with approximately 30,000 Swarovski crystals hanging from the ceiling, as well as colorful LEDs and mirror balls. On November 28th, the rows of zelkova trees along Omotesando will be illuminated with incandescent lights, making Christmas in Omotesando even more festive.
