As part of its Spring/Summer 2021 Men's Pre-Collection, Louis Vuitton is pleased to announce "LV x NBA," the Maison's first men's wear capsule collection in collaboration with the National Basketball Association (NBA).

This collection was designed by Men's Artistic Director Virgil Abloh to commemorate the three-year partnership agreement between the Maison and the NBA. In January 2020, Louis Vuitton unveiled a special trophy case to house the Larry O'Brien Trophy, which has been passed down to NBA champions. Celebrating the exchange between the French Maison's renowned craftsmanship and America's iconic sport, Virgil Abloh created exclusive apparel and accessories accented with designs that combine the NBA and Louis Vuitton emblems. Translating his personal codes into the world of basketball, the collection embodies the values of empathy and inclusivity that are essential to Virgil Abloh's vision for Louis Vuitton.

Inspired by the players' wardrobes, the collection is centered around three dress codes. The first is "Travel and Transit," reflected in a graphic gray cashmere tracksuit accented with basketball stripes. The second is "Game Day." The third collection, "Press Conference," showcases a blue hooded leather jacket paired with jeans and a T-shirt featuring the Monogram motif. The dress code is expressed through a suit and an elegant shirt. The NBA logo is combined with Louis Vuitton motifs on each piece, asserting its unique identity. The NBA logo appears on the houndstooth suit, knit jacket, shirt, and tie. Functional bags feature the NBA logo's red, blue, and white color palette. The collection's multi-pocket backpack also features the classic Monogram motif, contrasting with a white basketball-inspired strap. The Christopher PM and Nile Messenger are also reinterpreted through an NBA lens. The Keepall Bandouliere features striking net detailing on the side, reminiscent of a basketball hoop. The shoes combine Louis Vuitton codes with NBA elements. Featuring classic loafers, chunky leather derby shoes, slip-ons, and lace-up leather boots with sneaker details, the collection features the new "LV x NBA" emblem embossed on the insole. The NBA logo also appears on accessories, visualizing the dialogue between sport and craftsmanship. Virgil Abloh, Louis Vuitton Men's Artistic Director, said: "Fashion muses are unpredictable. The idea of luxury can be found not only in fashion, adjacent to traditional art, but also in the world of sport and its champions. This collection pays homage to basketball's cultural contribution, its diversity, and the idea of empathy that unites the world." The "LV x NBA" collection will be available in select Louis Vuitton stores and at www.louisvuitton.com from November 20th.
