La Gazzetta 1987 & Felisi Aoyama store to open as an independent store in April

Mar 1, 2014

Figo's first store, La Gazzetta 1987 & Felisi Aoyama, will relocate and open as independent shops, "Felisi Aoyama Main Store" (1st floor, Ekubo Building, 5-8-3 Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo) and "La Gazzetta 1987 Aoyama Store" (2nd floor), on April 26th.

As the largest directly operated store in Japan, the new Aoyama Main Store will carry the brand's entire lineup and will feature an expanded business corner with a focus on highly sought-after briefcases. The store will offer high-quality customer service in a hospitality-conscious space, including a hotel reception-inspired counter in the entrance hall. The store will also feature the brand's first repair workshop to enhance aftercare, aiming to become a flagship store that establishes the image of a classic Italian bag brand that transcends time and trends and can be used for many years to come.

La Gazzetta 1987 Aoyama store will express Japan's finest selection and worldview with brands such as "ASPESI," "HANCOCK," "AL e RO design," and "PIERRE LOUIS MASCIA." There will also be a miscellaneous goods corner reflecting the "joys of life," showcasing "exquisite items known only to those in the know" that emphasize timelessness, quality, and stories. The logotype has also been given a sharper update to coincide with the relocation.

The store exterior is inspired by the old town of Ferrara, Felisi's base. There is a parking space at the end of the cobblestone street with a porch, and La Gazzetta 1987 on the second floor can be accessed by both a dedicated elevator entrance and a maisonette-style internal staircase. La Gazzetta 1987 opened at the same time as Figo was founded in 1987 as a select shop that also served as a showroom for the brands it imports, but as Felisi grew it was renamed La Gazzetta 1987 & Felisi in 2003. Now, 28 years after its opening, the decision has been made to relocate in order to open a flagship store that will enhance Felisi's brand presence and to strengthen the new contracted brands that La Gazzetta 1987 handles, such as Aspesi and Hankook.
