J.Crew to open two Asian stores in Hong Kong

Mar 3, 2014

American apparel brand J.Crew will open its first Asia-Pacific store in Hong Kong. The stores will be located on On Lan Street in Central and at the International Finance Centre (IFC Mall), both of which are scheduled to open in May 2014.

The On Lan Street store will carry only men's items, offering the full lineup of Ludlow suits, shirts, shoes, and other items, as well as partner brand items selected by the design team. Partner brands include Ebbets Field Flannels, Barbour, New Balance, and Vans.

The IFC Mall store will carry women's items and offer a carefully selected selection, including limited edition items, series using special materials and prints, and items made from Italian cashmere. There will also be a salon dedicated to shoes and handbags. Millard Drexler, Chairman and CEO of J.Crew Group Inc., commented, "Opening a store in Hong Kong was an obvious decision. Hong Kong is a great city, filled with an immense energy and a strong appreciation for style, design, and creativity." As of February 6, 2014, J.Crew operated 452 retail stores (266 J.Crew stores, 65 Madewell stores, and 121 factory outlet stores) around the world, including the UK and Canada, and also operated the J.Crew catalog business, e-commerce, and Madewell catalog business. The e-commerce site, jcrew.com, launched in late March 2012 and is available in over 100 countries, including Japan. In October of the same year, J.Crew launched its business in Hong Kong in partnership with Lane Crawford.
