GOOD GOODS ISSEY MIYAKE, a brand dedicated to the pursuit of "good things" and the development of unique miscellaneous goods, is hosting "GOOD PRINTER" at 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT Gallery 3 from August 9th to 28th, 2025.

This exhibition will feature a special device called "GOOD PRINTER," developed in collaboration with the engineering group nomena. In a space reminiscent of a small factory, visitors can interact with the device while it's in operation, recording their momentary movements and unconscious movements as a print on the fabric. The same pattern will never be reproduced twice, and the fabric, once dried at the venue, will be used in future products.

The word "print" doesn't just refer to a design or printing, it also means "the act of leaving a trace." The traces of a finger on a foggy window or the pattern left by a bicycle tire are also part of a print. This exhibition is a place where you can experience the moment when such chance and creativity come together to create something good.

GOOD GOODS ISSEY MIYAKE is a project launched in 2018, and is a team that creates experimental designs while staying in touch with society and the aspirations of its people. Members with different fields of expertise have come together to combine ideas and technology to propose products brimming with playfulness. The creation of these products enriches everyday life and brings about special experiences.

Meanwhile, nomena, the company that developed the device, is a group of engineers founded by Shohei Takei in 2012. They are constantly challenging themselves to create new things through research, experiments, and collaboration with creators and research institutions. Their efforts span the boundaries of art and technology, as evidenced by their activities in a wide range of fields and their numerous awards, including the mechanical design of the Olympic cauldron for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
