"Decorated Dresses for Working Women," offering dresses for women active in a variety of settings, has launched at Isetan Shinjuku's Main Building, The Stage #4, 4th floor. The event runs until the 18th.
The "Dress on Dress" concept proposes a cover dress layered over a simple dress, making it suitable for both office and party wear. The products were developed in collaboration with Isetan Mitsukoshi and each brand, capturing the latent needs of working women in their 40s and 50s who "want to wear basic business attire during the day, but semi-formal dresses for parties in the evening." All products will be introduced as "Only MI" products, available exclusively at Isetan Mitsukoshi.
The theme of the store's decorations is "Superwoman." The illustrations of women on the facade are wearing dresses that are actually on sale, and are comically depicted as they transform from a business setting to a semi-formal setting.
BLANC LE BILLET is making its first appearance at Isetan Shinjuku. The combination of a simple base dress (two colors/37,800 yen) and an asymmetrical cover dress (two colors/45,150 yen) allows the base dress to be seen from one side, creating the illusion of a different dress depending on the angle. The draped silhouette effectively covers the body line.
BERARDI is characterized by a vibrant blue reminiscent of the sea. The cover dress comes in three patterns: a shirt type, a mesh dress, and a black dress (all 40,950 yen), allowing you to coordinate it to your preferred style. MOGA will be introducing a jersey base dress (21,000 yen) and an organza dress with embroidered lace (46,200 yen). Six other brands, including WB, EPOCA, and Filo di Seta, are also in the lineup. While each brand's base dresses feature simple designs with patterns and materials that prioritize comfort, their cover dresses offer a well-balanced mix of trends, using pleats, mesh, lace, and foil prints. Functionality is also taken into consideration, with lightweight, wrinkle-resistant materials used so the dresses can be easily stored in a clutch or pouch for on-the-go wear, travel, or after-work social gatherings. Since the stores showcase all the brands together, it's also possible to coordinate dresses across brands.
As a collaborative project with the magazine "HERS," there will be two sessions on March 15th, from 1pm and 3pm, including a talk show by actress Kaku Chikako and a coordination lesson by imaging director Takahashi Midori. They will talk about how to incorporate and style dress-on-dress outfits. Both sessions are by reservation only, and participants will receive an original novelty gift.
