Romy, a member of the globally acclaimed UK band The xx, has released her first solo debut single, "Lifetime."

Romy says the message she wants to convey through her new song is to "live in the moment and celebrate it."
Recorded in London during lockdown, the song is a killer, celebratory tune about reuniting with friends, family, and loved ones. Romy's new track, "Lifetime," is filled with her affection and longing for club music, a genre she's been DJing since she was 17, and showcases her timeless songwriting skills, which have seen her write for artists like Mark Ronson and Dua Lipa.

As she hinted at on her Instagram earlier this year, the track, which exhilarates with a warm and festive vibe reminiscent of Ibiza house and trance club classics, features Fred Again, one of the UK's most promising young producers, and Marta Salogni, a producer/engineer highly trusted by The xx.

Fred Again has also made a name for himself by collaborating with and producing for such renowned artists as her ally Jamie xx, Stormzy, Ed Sheeran, Underworld, and Brian Eno.

In a post-pandemic world situation that makes us want to escape reality, this song offers a glimpse into the London singer-songwriter's prosperous future activities.

The lyric video was created by designer Patrick Savile and animator Connor Campbell.

This song, which takes a different approach from her band counterparts, is filled with the new charm of Romy as a solo artist. You can enjoy the new song even more by listening to it alongside Romy's playlist "Pride Inside DJ Set," currently available on Spotify. Be sure to check it out below.
