Acne Studios, under creative director Jonny Johansson, presented their Spring/Summer 2017 men's collection in a presentation format within the Charlemagne High School in Paris's 4th arrondissement. Considering "how emptiness and romantic Swedish summers are at the same time," the brand focused on tents and sought to evolve the waterproof jacket. The silhouette, color, and material were inspired by camping tents, while the checks and stripes evoked nostalgia. The tent-shaped A-line half coat was also chosen with a material inspired by old tents. The zip-up waterproof jacket is also A-line, with all seams bonded. The poplin striped shirt is zipped and plastic-coated, making it perfect for rainy days as a rainshirt rather than a raincoat. The rubber-coated A-line coat features a checked lining inspired by tablecloths found in Swedish villas. Many of the shoes were rubberized, and one eye-catching item was a sock-and-sneaker combination that looked as if it had been soaked in oil. It was a collection that was thoroughly waterproof.
