Jul 16, 2016

"Star Wars: A Vision for the Future," a collection of Star Wars artworks selected by George Lucas from around the world, will be held at the Abeno Harukas Art Museum on the 16th floor of Abeno Harukas in Osaka from July 16 to August 30.

The exhibition will showcase the appeal of Star Wars under the theme of "vision." Approximately 150 pieces will be on display, including world-premiere artworks, concept art, costumes, and props from the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art that were actually used in the film productions. The exhibition will also feature portraits of various characters surrounding Anakin (Darth Vader) across two generations, including Luke, Leia, Han Solo, Yoda, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, as well as Force-themed artwork and replicas of Kylo Ren's mask and lightsaber, which were newly introduced in "The Force Awakens." Along with digest footage of major battles, blaster guns used in the films will also be on display, as well as vivid depictions of the unique creatures that inhabit the planet and Ewok costumes used in the films.

A video will be shown looking back on the epic Star Wars saga, showcasing the legendary duo C-3PO and R2-D2, the only characters to have appeared in every episode released to date. A replica of the new droid BB-8, which appeared in "The Force Awakens," will also be on display. A wide variety of Star Wars-related merchandise will also be on sale. In addition to exhibition-exclusive goods, commemorative medals exclusive to the Osaka venue will also be available.
