Paul Smith held his Spring/Summer 2017 men's collection show at the Bourse de Commerce on June 26th. With reggae and dub music playing, the show featured vibrant color combinations evocative of strong sunlight. It offered a modern and stylish interpretation of the atmosphere of Notting Hill, home to many Caribbean immigrants in the 1960s and 1970s. The show's bright aesthetic echoed the multicolored socks featured on the invitations. Authentic pieces like checked suits, buckskin blousons, and mixed-material military jackets were paired with beautiful color combinations, including shirts with Rasta collars, multicolored striped T-shirts, and multicolored leather woven backpacks. Belts adorned with peace signs and flower buckles, and leather corsage bag charms, further enhanced the optimistic atmosphere of the venue.

However, it's not all happy, and they didn't forget to show a bit of a bitter side, such as by introducing a military jacket embroidered with a strawberry-shaped skull. With an eye on today's complex world in many ways, they gave the impression of a willingness to create something new.
