Global fitness brand Reebok has welcomed designer Kohei Okita of fashion brand VAINL ARCHIVE to the special apparel collection "Reebok eightyone" for Spring/Summer 2020. This is the second season collection following the first Spring/Summer collection, and will include the "PREMIER PUMP PARIS" from Reebok's Pump series, as well as apparel items tailored for Fall/Winter, which will be released sequentially from August 28, 2020.

This second season sees the long-awaited debut of the "PREMIER PUMP PARIS," a model equipped with Reebok's proprietary fitting technology, "The Pump" (pictured, on sale September 18th). This model was released as a running shoe in 2007 and became popular at the time for its stunning combination of sleek, stylish design and sporty coloring. To achieve the "sense of strangeness" that Okita advocates for in this collection, the "PREMIER PUMP PARIS" also features a "combination of different materials," resulting in a shoe with a unique texture. Additionally, the "CLUB C," which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, has been added to the collection and is scheduled to be released at a later date.

Additionally, this apparel line is based on the three colors of black, grey, and grape, and features a bold design of the brand's iconic "vector" logo. The use of the logo used in the early 2000s is also a major departure from the first season, and many items tailored for autumn and winter will be available, including padded (Primaloft(R)) jackets, fleece, coach jackets, anoraks, hoodies, and more.
■Meticulously crafted items from "Reebok eightyone"

The designs of the "Reebok eightyone" collection, which launched in the Spring/Summer 2020 season, follow the ""sense of incongruity" hidden in the combination of fabric, color, and silhouette"" that is the core of "VAINL ARCHIVE" manufacturing, as Okita says, "The main purpose was to create a sense of "incongruity" among the many Reebok products, both past and present." In addition to the gray and black colors that were the base of the previous work, a deep grape color has been added to this latest work. The collection exudes an urban vibe that is rare for Reebok, and the use of different materials in each item creates a three-dimensional effect, resulting in a simple yet extremely unique finish.
"Reebok eightyone" is a collection that beautifully fuses sports and fashion through Okita's hand, and is a new sports mix style that Reebok is proposing together with him. Following the first collection, the visuals for this collection were also shot by New York-based photographer Jiro Konami, who has garnered attention both domestically and internationally.

■The Concept of "Reebok eightyone"
Located in "Tokyo (Japan)," a city that is constantly attracting global attention for its fashion and the culture surrounding it, this collection project was launched based on the concept of "communicating a global bird's-eye view of Tokyo (Japan)" to the world. As international calls from Japan to the world and from the world to Japan are expected to increase dramatically, the name of this collection comes from the dialing code for "Tokyo (Japan)", "+81". Reebok will promote "Reebok eightyone", a fusion of sport and fashion, to the world as a new sports mix style proposed together with Okita.
