Designer Gosha Rubchinskiy's latest photo book, "Tokyo," went on limited release at Dover Street Market Ginza on June 17th.
The book on sale this time is a portrait photo book of young Japanese people who appeared in a video installation created for DSMG's 5th anniversary event. Gosha, who visited Japan for the first time in March, personally styled 18 young people in their mid-teens to early twenties whom he scouted in Tokyo's skate parks and on the streets, and then photographed them in studio. The photos feature pieces from the 2017 Spring/Summer collection and the 2017-18 Fall/Winter collection, which will be launched in July, mixed with the clothes the young people wore on the day of the shoot. The photo book will be sold as a set with SWITCH Vol. 35 No. 7 "MET EXHIBITS STORIES Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garçons Rei Kawakubo's Will Metropolitan Celebration" (Switch Publishing) for 5,000 yen. It will only be available at DSM Ginza, London, New York, and Trading Museum Comme des Garçons Paris.
