Natsuri's room is a hot topic on Instagram. A space filled with gentle wood and antique furniture [Room Snap]

Aug 19, 2020

With more time being spent at home these days, many people are probably thinking about improving the quality of their rooms and making them more stylish! This time, we've snapped a look at the home of Natsuri (Instagram: @ntr_128), who works for an interior design company and is also a popular Instagrammer, posting about furniture, trending shops, fashion, and more. We also asked her about the fun she enjoys spending time at home.

Here are some of the articles exclusive to the app.

■A Living Room Where the Warmth of Wood Harmonizes with the Colors of Dried Flowers

The interior is unified with solid wood. The TV stand, cabinet, and sofa were purchased when she moved to Tokyo, and she says she's been using them for about eight years. Natsuri plans to decorate the walls with photo frames and install shelves in the future.

The key is to arrange furniture along the walls to eliminate visual clutter and streamline traffic flow.

■ Relaxing time at home surrounded by your favorite things

Currently working from home, Natsuri often works at the dining table, but sometimes relaxes on the sofa in the living room to work.

She enjoys looking at tableware and always finds herself struggling to decide which one to use today.
The cupboard was purchased at the Nihei Antique Furniture Store in Mashiko, Tochigi. She always participates in the Mashiko Pottery Fair, which is held twice a year, and apparently purchases more than half of the tableware she collects at the fairs.

The dishes in the photo are just a small part of the collection; anything that doesn't fit in the cupboard is stored on a kitchen shelf. I prefer simple designs with a matte texture that can be used in both Japanese and Western styles, and recently I've also been collecting French antiques and patterned blue and white plates.

■ A custom-made table and dream chairs are the focus of attention, especially when it comes to items you'll use for a long time

Natsuri's favorite room in her home is the dining room, and she bought new furniture when she moved into her current home in April. She ordered the table from an acquaintance who makes furniture, and everything from the size to the tabletop material, leg design, and paint method were crafted exactly to her specifications, making it a very special piece. The chair is an Ercol chair, something she's always wanted, and she apparently purchased it at a vintage shop.

■ As much as you like of what you like. Wall arrangement techniques that don't waste even the slightest bit of white space

Wall decorations you'll want to pore over
We discovered a wall haphazardly covered with calendars by her favorite artists, cafe shop cards, flyers, and more. While this space is decorated with a variety of items, the overall color palette is kept cool tones to create a sense of unity.

In the second half of the article, we'll introduce some of Natsuri's favorite recent purchases.
