Saint Laurent Rive Droite is presenting an exhibition at this year's Milan Design Week in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives and the Anara & Armando Planchart Foundation. Curated by Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello and held at the Basilica of San Simpliciano, the exhibition will showcase a special collection of plates.

In 1953, in Venezuela, Anara and Armando Planchart commissioned renowned Italian architect Gio Ponti to build an avant-garde villa on the highest hill overlooking Caracas. Responding to the client's modern design request, Gio Ponti designed a home "as light and graceful as a butterfly posing on a hill," filled with originality and bright colors, magnificent views, and an orchid collection and artwork.

To complete the interior decoration of Villa Planchart, Ponti called on skilled Italian artisans with traditional expertise, including artisans from the renowned Florentine pottery manufacturer Ginori 1735, where Ponti had previously served as artistic director. Expressing his artistic talent and attention to detail, he designed a porcelain dinnerware set decorated with the villa's symbols and motifs, including the sun, crescent moon, North Star, and a repeated letter "A" in homage to Anala and Armando.

Saint Laurent Rive Droite, in collaboration with Ginori 1735, has reissued 12 original plates from the Villa Planchato Segnaepost collection, designed by Gio Ponti in 1957. The decorative porcelain plates are hand-painted in Italy at the Ginori 1735 workshop, crafted using traditional techniques. The limited-edition plates will be available at YSL.COM (select stores in Japan), Saint Laurent Rive Droite in Los Angeles, and Saint Laurent Babylon in Paris. Additionally, they will be available for pre-order at the Saint Laurent Milan flagship store on Via Montenapoleone during Milan Design Week.
