Exhibition looking back on the work of Ellie Omiya is currently being held in Ginza

Aug 15, 2013

The "Ellie Omiya Exhibition" is currently being held at Ginza Graphic Gallery (ggg), looking back on the work of Ellie Omiya, a multidisciplinary film director, screenwriter, author, stage director, and commercial director. Admission is free and runs through the 28th.
This exhibition considers the process of creating stage, film, and television productions to be "design," showcasing her work through photographs and video footage, including her debut film "Story at the Sea," music videos for Spitz, Ketsumeishi, and Masayoshi Yamazaki, and her book "Living Sketches." A new installation is also on display in the basement.
After working at an advertising agency, Omiya went independent in 2006. Last year, her installation of words and sculptures, "Conveying Thoughts," held at Parco Museum in Shibuya, attracted 12,000 visitors. She subsequently held "Conveying Thoughts" and "Being Alive," and plans to hold a "starry sky"-themed exhibition and planetarium in September.

On the 19th, there will also be a signing session for purchasers of Omiya Ellie's books. The exhibition will also travel to ddd Gallery in Osaka from November 5th.
