The Paris-based brand HEIMAT ATLANTICA will launch its bag collection "HEIMAT" at DOVER STREET MARKET GINZA.
Founded by Spanish-born designer Montserrat Alvarez, HEIMAT ATLANTICA expresses the brand's worldview with themes of "magic realism," "the sea," "female artisans," and "collage." The bag launched this time is the brand's first limited edition bag, a handmade basket made using traditional Portuguese techniques, adorned with ceramic charms made one by one by artisans at Sargadelos, a ceramics manufacturer in Galicia, Spain. The charms are based on the motif of the "Cigarron" masks that appear in the ancient Roman festival of Lupercalia (said to be the origin of modern Valentine's Day) and the Saturnalia (Carnival) carnival, and are imbued with the meaning of talismans that bring "love" and "happiness."
Only 500 bags of each style are produced in limited quantities. Each bag comes with a paper tag with a serial number and is priced between 40,500 and 55,500 yen.
